Michael J. Mattern "Mike", age 70 of Oakmont and formerly of Springdale, passed away at home on Saturday June 17, 2023 after a 14 year hard fought courageous battle with Melanoma.

He was the son of the late Lillian Mattern and Anthony Conforti, Jr.  Loving father of Heather (Dan) Pessy and Michael (Sarah) Mattern II.  Beloved grandfather of Mia, Johnathan, Lillian, Gianna, and Benjamin.  Brother of Peter (Jeanne) Mattern and Kerry (Julia) Mattern.

Mike loved working as the Assistant Superintendent at Green Oaks Country Club in Verona, where he spent over 33 years of service.  He enjoyed spending time at the Eagles in Verona where he began bartending in 1990 and most recently served as a Trustee.  Mike was known for hosting his big 37 Club football party as well as any other poll or party he could throw.  He instilled a love of roller skating in his children thanks to his tenure at Ardmore Roller Rink and managing the Ches-A-Rena for many years. He loved with food and will be fondly remembered for his shepherd's pie, turnovers, wedding soup, and peanut butter pies.  Mike was a big supporter of the Mt. Lebanon and Oakmont Relay for Life Events benefiting the American Cancer Society.  He loved his friends as if they were family and will be missed by many.
