MICHAEL SCURO, 99 years old, of Penn Hills, was received into the loving arms of Jesus Christ on August 28, in Pittsburgh, PA.

Michael was preceded in death by his loving and inseparable wife of 67 years, Mary, and his mother and father, Marietta and Nicola Scuro, and his seven brothers and sisters.  He is survived by his sons, Michael (Susan) and Paul, and his daughter, Michele (Paul Wooten), his granddaughters Maureen Scuro (great-grandson, Aidan), and Stephanie Weirich (great-granddaughter, Mackenzie and great-grandson, Michael), and grandson, Daren Wooten (great-granddaughter, Lillah and great-grandson, Dax) and many nieces and nephews and their children.

Michael graduated from Westinghouse High School. Upon graduation, he worked for Westinghouse Electric Company.  When World War II broke out, he served as a sergeant in the European theater.  After the war, he resumed his employment with Westinghouse that lasted for 42 years, where he became an Inspection Supervisor.

His life was full of music, starting with high school orchestra, his made in heaven meeting with his future wife, Mary, at a band concert, to singing at countless weddings, funerals and weekly choir Masses at St. Joseph Church.  Other activities included walking, golf, Veteran's Association meetings, Barbershop Quartet competitions, loving, helping, and enjoying his family.

Michael told many, many people that he loved them during his stay on earth… but he really meant it.

Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139 on Wednesday, August 30 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm.  A mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 31 at 10:30a.m. at Holy Family Parish- St. Joseph's Church 825 2nd St. Verona, PA 15147.  Interment to follow at Mt.
