Raymond M. Varassi, age 74 of Allison Park passed away Tuesday May 23, 2023 at home surrounded by his family after a 3 month hard fought battle with esophageal cancer.  He was the son of the late Irene (Reschoff) Varassi and Raymond Varassi.  Beloved husband for 44 years to Beverly (Gilbert) Varassi. Loving father of Melanie (Daryl Mains) Varassi-Mains, and Christopher Varassi.  Brother of the late Anthony Varassi.  Grand-pap of his beloved fur-babies Novie and Rosabella.  Ray was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, loved going to the beach with his family, and in his earlier years enjoyed weightlifting and fitness.  He loved cars, and was co-owner of Verona Jeep for many years.  Ray was a proud Army Veteran, serving his country during Vietnam.  Ray never gave up and fought hard against this cancer with his family by his side.  Friends and relatives will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139 on Tuesday May 30 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m.  A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday May 31 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 2510 Middle Rd. Glenshaw, PA 15116.  Interment will follow in the St. Mary of Assumption church cemetery with military honors.  If desired, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
