Richard "Rick" Brown age 74 of Oakmont, passed away peacefully Monday morning January 15, 2024. Cherished son of the late Jim and Adeline Brown. Beloved husband of Geraldine Brown of Oakmont for 48 devoted years. Loving father of Melanie (Bob) Brown of Oakmont and Nathan Brown of Columbus, OH. Proud pop-pop to grandsons, Paul (18), Rocco (15) and Bobby (12). He leaves behind countless treasured cousins, friends, and family members.

A natural "people-person," Rick spent the bulk of his professional career as a successful executive recruiter and was fortunate to make many lifelong friends along the way. His true calling, however, was music, and his medium was rock and roll. Years after his college rock band found their respective professional vocations, they continued to jam on weekend mornings in the basement of Rick's home, relishing in their shared passion for the joy music brings. Eventually, they started to play small gigs again, and in 2016 they brought that passion to fruition and recorded their first album together.  Rick was 67 years old. He never stopped chasing his dream and found as much joy and fun in the chase as he did in the attainment. His zest for life is his legacy.

Friends and guests will be received by the family on Thursday January 18, 2024, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139.  A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday January 19, 2024, at Holy Family Parish - St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Oakmont.  Everyone please meet at the church.  Entombment to follow at the St. Mary of the Assumption Cemetery Mausoleum, Glenshaw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rick's name to the Western Pennsylvania Center for the Arts , 300 James St. Verona, PA, 15147.
