Richard E. Leppold, 91, of Verona passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
Preceded in death by his parents, Florence (Yearm) Leppold and Leo J. Leppold, brother Coleman (Bernadette) Leppold, sister Virginia Leppold, and close friend Helen Suchevich. Survived by nieces and nephews Maureen, Stephen, Edward, Judith and Lynne; great nieces and nephews Molly, Claire, Alex, Marc, Ira and Mara; and cousins Tom, Timothy, Mickey and Brian Antal.
Rich (also known as “Slim”) was a veteran of the US Army and served during the Korean War. A lifelong resident of the Verona / Penn Hills area, he was employed as a mill carpenter at Woodings Foundry in Verona and later as a maintenance worker at Verona Gardens. Richard enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting, fishing and gardening, and spending time at the Verona Eagles.
Friends and family are invited to a blessing service on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 11 AM with military honors at BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont PA 15139. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Verona.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Family Parish, 444 Holy Family Way, Plum PA 15239.
