Richard Nolan
March 15, 1940 – July 8, 2025
Beloved husband of Mary Murock, loving father of Richard (Kathy), Regis (Carolyn), Dan, Sarah Christen, and Liz Keller (Dan). Grandfather of Zachery Nolan, Sarah Nolan, Jimmy Christen, Regis Keller and Quinn Keller. Preceded in death by his wife, Margret, and six brothers, a sister and a still born brother. Son of Thomas and Hazel (Rimmel) Nolan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Rich was a Penn Hills High School graduate, class of 1958, veteran of the United States Air Force, a steelworker for 20 years at US Steel Homestead, and a technician for almost 20 years at the University of Pittsburgh, where he met his wife of 25 years, Mary. He was an active member, head usher and food pantry volunteer at St. James Church in Wilkinsburg for 30 years. More recently, he was a member of Holy Family Parish (Plum and Verona). In retirement, Rich was a Meals on Wheels volunteer in Plum Boro for almost 20 years. He enjoyed bird watching, gardening, and of course the Steelers. Rich greeted everyone from his front porch and was known as the Mayor of Jane Street by his neighbors. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends and family will be received on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 1 to 8 PM at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday July 15 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish - St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Verona. Entombment to follow at Good Shepherd Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, Rich can be honored with a donation to Plum Meals on Wheels, 499 Center-New Texas Rd., 15239.
