Obituary

On Monday, November 18th, 2024, Richard "Dick" Wallace passed peacefully after 99 loving and fulfilling years.

He enjoyed family gatherings, taking pictures with his 35mm camera, calling Bingo, watching Westerns, going camping, following local sports, eating sweets and telling stories about growing up in North Bessemer. He had a mind like a steel trap, a great sense of humor and never let his age slow him down! He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a hardworking family man and devout Catholic. The best husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather anyone could ask for!

Cherished son of the late Rhabanus and Anne (Kozusko) Wallace.

Beloved husband of the late Dolores (Hazlett) Wallace. Loving father of Richard (Denise) Wallace, the late Dolores Montemurro, the late Edward and Robert Wallace, Leslie (Edward) Tucci, Barbara Behrndt, the late Janice (Bob) Zastrow and Mark Wallace (Pam Fiore).

Dedicated grandfather of Jessica (Joe) Williamson, Lindsay and Nicole Wallace, Toni Lynn, Joe and Matt (Andrea) Montemurro, Mike (Trisha) Zastrow, Tim (Keely) Zastrow, Jennifer (John) Van Etten, Lauren (Cole) and Lucas (Courtney) Tucci, Michaela (Zack) Burczak, Amanda (Natalie) Myers, Erin (Kevin) Martin, Richard Wallace, Gia and Vito Fiore.

Devoted great-grandfather of Adelaide and Wren Williamson, Joey and Gianna Montemurro,  Amelia Tucci, Parker and Brynn Zastrow, Keenan, Cheyla, and Diante Zastrow, Jordan and Jenna Van Etten, Carson, Hazel (deceased) and Rigby Myers, and Kevin Martin III.

He will be greatly missed by everyone lucky enough to have known him.
