Rita (Scampone) Paliotta, age 77 of Ross Twp., formerly of East Liberty passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023.

Born in Selvacava, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (DeBellis) Scampone.

Loving mother of Natalie (Michael) Escourt, Mary Paliotta, Patsy Paliotta, and Mark Paliotta. Devoted Grandmother of Madeline, Samuel, and Sophia Escourt, Rocco and Gianna Paliotta. Sister of Louis Scampone and his wife Rosa. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In her early years, Rita discovered her talent for sewing and pursued a career as a seamstress. She later embraced various occupations, working diligently at Giant Eagle and Club One, where her friendliness endeared her to both customers and coworkers alike. Rita's nurturing spirit also led her to provide at-home childcare for numerous families in her community.

Rita was a woman of unique hobbies and interests. She was a devoted fan of Garfield, Elvis Presley and collecting souvenir spoons from around the world. Rita also had a deep appreciation for the beauty of flowers, both in receiving and giving.

However, Rita's most remarkable quality was her unwavering support and affection for her family and friends. She always appreciated having a chat and a warm cup of coffee with the ones that she loved most. Her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and kind soul brightened countless lives. Her memory will forever remain a beacon of love for those she held dear.

Friends and relatives will be received Thursday, December 21, 2023, at BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave, Oakmont, PA 15139 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.   Committal services and interment will follow at 11:30 a.m. in Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery, 7601 Mt. Carmel Road, Verona with Fr. Michael Roche, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
