Robert E. "Bob" Matvya, age 70 of Indianola, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday July 22, 2024.

Son of the late Eleanor and Frank Matvya.  Beloved husband of Thelma (Engster) Matvya of 33 years.  Loving father of Shannon (Robert) Ray, Jason (Tracy) Post, Jennifer (Ryan) Prichard, and Robert J. (Michele) Matvya.  Pap Pap of Ryan, Shane, Kayleigh, Riley, Hannah, Hudson, Hadley, Hayes, and Riley.  Brother of Norma J. (Ricky) Pavlisko. Also survived by one niece and several cousins.

Bob worked for many years at the former Nickles Bakery in Verona.

Bob was an avid boater and a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.  He loved to watch all types of western movies.  He was an extremely hard worker, loving husband and father, and a devoted Pap Pap to all his grandchildren.

Friends and relatives will be received on Friday July 26, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC. at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139.  A funeral service will be held the same day at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.

The family strongly suggests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation for Veteran's.
