Scott Judson "Judd" Moorhead, 65, of Mercer, PA passed away on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Judd was preceded in death by his mother Donna J. Moorhead; his son David J. Moorhead; and his cats Tiger, Checkers, Sabrina, and Bo.  He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Laura E. Ditrich-Moorhead; son Wesley S. Moorhead (Angelica); daughter Sarah M. Moorhead; grandchildren Kaylee, Ashley, Caleb, Genevieve, and Gretchen; father David W. Moorhead; brothers David Moorhead and John (Susan) Moorhead; brother-in-law Thomas A. Ditrich (Carlie); nephews Jack (Kerry) Moorhead and Andrew Ditrich; and loving cat Luke.

Judd was born on May 26, 1960, in Pittsburgh, PA.  He was a 1978 graduate of Springdale High School and graduated from Washington & Jefferson College in 1982 with a degree in Chemistry and Economics.  He was President of Delta Tau Delta.

During High School Judd was an honor student and played football in his sophomore year.  He earned his brown belt in karate, became an Eagle Scout and also served as an EMT with Lower Valley Ambulance Service in Cheswick and a volunteer firefighter with Cheswick VFD.

After college, Judd had a successful career in restaurant operations general management throughout the western Pennsylvania region.

Judd was a proud member of the Verona Lodge #548 F & M, the Valley of Pittsburgh Scottish Rite, and a member of the Pittsburgh Syria Shrine.

Judd was an avid reader who enjoyed retirement at the lake.

Judd was an eternal optimist who loved life and lived it to its fullest.  He was extremely proud of his children.  One of his greatest joys in life was being a father, grandfather, and sharing countless special moments with family and his five grandchildren.

Friends and family will be received on Sunday, July 20, 2025, from 12 noon until services at 3 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, Inc. at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont PA 15139.
