Sean Daly Ferris

Sean Daly Ferris, 78 of Pittsburgh (Penn Hills), PA passed away Sunday May 10, 2026, at Shadyside Hospital, after a 3 1/2-year courageous battle with Metastatic Bone Cancer, surrounded by his loving family.

He lived in Northern Ireland as a child for several years. He survived tumors on his lung when he was 12 years old.

He was the Vice Chairman of the Railroad Union covering 4 states where he enacted several safety regulations with the government for preventing railroad catastrophes, author of a book about the Union, had several patents, and received the Governor's Energy Award.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen (Deringer) Ferris, 4 children: Maggie (John) Brier, Bridget (Wayne) Chang, Padraic Ferris, and Seamus (Marissa) Ferris; his sister Patricia Robertson, sister-in-law Joyce Negley, 8 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday May 15, at 10 a.m. at St. Susanna Church of Christ the Divine Shepherd Parish, Penn Hills campus; 200 Stotler Rd. Pgh., PA 15235. Everyone please meet at the church.
