Susan A. Koch, age 69 of Export passed away on Monday morning May 8, 2023. She is the daughter of Anne (Panza) Hassler and the late Robert Hassler. Beloved husband to Gerard Koch for 44 years. Loving mother to Emily (Joseph) Gluvna and Jonathan (Lindsay) Koch. "Gah" to Jacob and Joshua Gluvna and Tessa and Tristan Koch. Sister of Nancy (Gary) Lobaugh. Aunt of Gary (Cristle) Lobaugh and Susan (Vincent) Pugliese. Great Aunt of Zachary, Lucas, Hannah, and Jackson. Susan worked as a teacher for 35 years in special education, specializing in emotional support and learning disabilities. Her career was much more than that; she saw her students as her children. She often said there are "no bad kids" in the world, just difficult or trying situations. Her happy place was the beach, especially Flagler Beach, where she had a second home. She was an avid member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Immediate family and their invited guests will be received at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139 on Wednesday May 10 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will be held Thursday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Oakmont at 10 a.m. Family will be available at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Private interment will follow at Plum Creek Cemetery for the immediate family.
