Thomas "Ski" Michael Maryanski, Sr.

d. February 20, 2026

Jacksonville, NC formerly of Plum

Thomas “Ski” Michael Maryanski Sr., age 79, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026, surrounded by his wife and children. He had recently moved from Plum, PA to Jacksonville, NC.

Born on February 3, 1947, in Oakmont, PA, Tom lived a life marked by devotion to family, hard work, faith, and a tender heart. A Vietnam Veteran, he endured more than most and fought many battles long after leaving the battlefield. Tom was a humble man who did not celebrate his Veteran status early on, but with the support and pride of his family, he came to understand how valued he—and his service—truly were. His strength, determination, and resilience inspired all who knew him.

Above all, Tom was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He deeply loved his family and found great joy in spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, swimming, caring for the family pets, tinkering on projects, working on cars, and he loved his naps. In his youth, he was a Scout, talented athlete who played football, and a self-taught springboard diver, with a “dare devil” side that carried through his adult life. His fierce love will live on through those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Belle Maryanski; his three children, Thomas Maryanski Jr. of Stoneboro, PA; Teresa Segelson (Garrett) of Pittsburgh, PA; and Joseph Maryanski of Jacksonville, NC; his five grandchildren, Anthony Segelson, Kiera Maryanski, Ethan Segelson, Kaetlyn Maryanski, and Nicholas Segelson; his sisters, Elizabeth Novak (and the late Joseph), Theodora Brown (and the late Edward), Susan Miller (James), Patricia Mauro (and the late Leonard), Teresa Camp (William), and Margaret Sammel (Norman); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Helen Maryanski, and his sister, Joanne Sterner.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday February 26, 2026, from 3-7 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave., Oakmont PA 15139. A funeral service will be held Friday February 27, 2026, 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home followed by burial at Plum Creek Cemetery.

The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Lower Cape Fear LifeCare Hospice for their compassion and support.

He was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. His courage shaped us, and his love carries on in each of us.

Rest in peace, Ski. Your watch is over.
