Virginia Kaus, age 101 of Oakmont, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday August 2, 2024. She was the daughter of the late Mary and George Havens. Beloved wife of the late Paul Kaus. Loving mother of Paul Dennis Kaus, Susan (Allan) Milgi, Robin (John) Capozzi, and Kathy (Filippo) Surra. Grandmother of Leigh Anne Nath, Steven (Vicki) Kaus, Kelly (John) Moore, Alec Milgi, Michael (Kimberly) Capozzi, Megan (David) Cousins, Daniela Surra, Alessandra Surra, and Vincent Surra. Virginia also has 12 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by five siblings.
Living in Oakmont for over 80 years, Virginia was a member and volunteer of St. Irenaeus Church, the Slovenian Club, the Spade and Trowel Garden Club, St. Irenaeus Christian Mothers, she volunteered at the Lenten Fish Fry and Church Bizarre. She was a phenomenal seamstress. She shared her talents with friends and family, displaying them though her exceptional baking, arts and crafts, giving to all those around her. She leaves behind grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Even up until her lasting days, she left a positive impact on all those around her.
Friends and relatives will be received on Sunday August 4, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the BURKET-TRUBY FUNERAL HOME CREMATION AND ALTERNATIVE SERVICES, INC., at 421 Allegheny Ave. Oakmont, PA 15139.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday August 5, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Parish - St. Irenaeus Catholic Church in Oakmont. Interment to follow at The Verona Cemetery in Oakmont next to her husband Paul.
In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude's or Holy Family Parish.
