The following is a brief list of our services provided. We provide traditional and personalized services; we will help you make a memorable funeral for your loved one.
Traditional Funeral Service with Visitation and Burial
This is the most commonly selected service that we offer and includes services of funeral director, administrative staff, professional staff for coordinating, personalizing, and directing the funeral service, preparation and filing of legal documents, and other paperwork necessary to complete the arrangements: removal from the place of death to the funeral home (within 30 miles); embalming and sanitary care of the remains; dressing, casketing, cosmetizing; use of facilities for visitation; use of the facilities for the service or set up at a church or other location; automotive equipment; graveside service.
Graveside Funeral Service
This option includes everything listed above and may include a day of visitation followed by graveside funeral services instead of funeral services at the funeral home, church, or other location.
This option includes no ceremonies or rites. It may take place only after obtaining a signed death certificate from the attending physician along with a signed authorization from the authorized agent of the deceased. Then an agent of the funeral home accompanies the deceased to the cemetery for burial.
Our Funeral Home is one of a few selected establishments, approved by the Green Burial Council to offer this celebration of life tribute, which can be catered and personalized to a family's needs. This offering exhibits the use of formaldehyde-free chemicals, the choices of a family viewing, natural burial shrouds, and natural green caskets. Our Oakmont location is located within 1 mile of Penn Forest Natural Burial Park in Verona, PA. More information can be viewed at:
Cremation provides an alternative to traditional funeral services yet still allows the option of visitation and funeral services should they be selected. A variety of Urns and Keepsakes are also available through our funeral home.
Cremation Funeral Service
This option includes everything listed above and can include a day of visitation with funeral services at the funeral home, church, or other location followed by cremation.
Is the simplest form of disposition, and includes no ceremonies or rites. It may take place only after obtaining a signed death certificate from the attending physician along with a signed authorization from the authorized agent of the deceased. In the State of Pennsylvania there is a twenty-four hour waiting period after the time of death before cremation can be performed since cremation is irreversible.
Cremation with Memorial Service
This choice includes the Direct Cremation, but also offers a memorial service or visitation with a memorial service to be held after the cremation.
Our Goal is to make the funeral service you choose to be a memorable one. We are always looking for and trying new ways to give our families personalized services. Some of the ways we do that are: Prayer cards or Memorial folders with pictures, Caskets with special interiors and exteriors, several books of urns to choose from, Remembrance urns, Picture boards, Remembrance sheets for loved ones to recall their favorite memory and share it with the family, Bulletins that can tell the story of the loved one with several pictures and many other personalized items are available. We are willing to work with the families to create the kind of "Celebration of Life" they are trying to achieve.
